During the last 22 years IMKO has become a leading manufacturer of TDR moisture measuring devices and environmental monitoring systems providing innovative and robust high-tech at reasonable costs.

imko company
IMKO Micromodultechnik GmbH was founded by Kurt Köhler. The company initially developed and manufactured measuring systems for industrial applications which has continued to be a major part of the IMKO business. The patented IMKO IMP bus enabled networking measuring modules using digital data transfer. IMKO counts Dow Chemical, Pirelli, Opel, etc. amongst its customers.

 

1986
Solling Roof Project
Beginning of the co-operation with the University of Göttingen and turning towards environmental problems and applications.

 

1987
An automatic adjustment for kidney stone smasher was developed and manufactured on the instruction of Dornier Medical Technologies, Munich, which was retrofitted to Dornier medical equipment all over the world.

 

1988
FhG Umweltmessflugzeug
The ENVIS® monitoring system using INMEWA® software was introduced. Furthermore this year IMKO realised an aircraft installed measuring system for the Fraunhofer Institute for Atmospheric Research of the Environment, which is still in use focusing ozone research.

 

1990
Patented TDR electronic
IMKO turned towards developing moisture measuring methods and patented the TRIME® TDR (time domain reflectometry) technology.

 

1992
Beginning of the co-operation with the University of Karlsruhe, Institute of Applied Geology.

 

1993
TRIME tube probe
Spreading of the TRIME® product family. The flexibility of TRIME® probes’ design enables new measuring applications at reasonable costs, e.g. measuring soil moisture profiles up to depth of 3m using the TRIME® tube access probes.
Innovation Award
IMKO received the ‘Dr. Rudolf Eberle’ innovation award of the State of Baden Württemberg for developing the TRIME® TDR technology.

Development of the TRIME® GW inline, a system which enables continuous measuring of bulk produce moisture directly inside the drying chamber without dependency on temperature up to 150°C (300°F).

Development of the TRIME® GMC system, a mobile bulk produce moisture and hectolitre weight measuring device which will be authorised for trade use 2000.
